be published by the Pawtucket Arts Council.
Deadline: March 1, 2000
There is also a contest for disabled persons and high
school students. The committee has not yet decided on those prizes and
criteria.
The committee includes: Randy Blasing, Jessan Dunn DeCredico,
Michele Cooper, Linda Dvelis, Ann Hood, and Rosemary Prisco.
Galway Kinnell was born and raised in Pawtucket, Rhode Island.
He was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for poetry in 1983, and has won a National
Book Award and a MacArthur Fellowship. He is the F.B. Morse Professor of Arts
and Sciences at New York University and the state poet of Vermont. The Pawtucket
Arts Council's poetry contest was named in his honor in 1985.
